Do what it says. Show love, mercy, and forgiveness as He did. Our faith can impact every part of our lives- relationships, jobs, service, and worship. The more you put it into practice, the stronger it gets, and the bigger the harvest you will have. You will see your life change for the better, and your faith increase.
What effect does your Bible study time have on your behavior and attitudes? What actions does it inspire you to put into place?
I did not! This was encouraging news to me. In this Luke passage, Jesus had just taught the apostles about forgiveness. It was a hard teaching, to which they responded with an urgent cry for more faith to carry it out!
They wanted the faith to forgive as radically as He had taught them. We know that He hears our prayers. Tell Him about your worries, thanks, questions, doubts, temptations, joys, and ideas. The winds and rain beat them down. But storms can strengthen and grow our faith when we lean on Jesus to comfort, guide and protect us, and give us answers to our problems. Not one of us is immune to storms. There are lessons to learn in every trial we go through. They can strengthen the unique aspects of our character.
God walks through every trial by our side. Ask him for strength, patience, endurance, wisdom- whatever you need. He will help you grow your faith in the rough spots in life. We water our grass, plants, and flowers through droughts.
We cover up tender plants when frost is coming. Plants that get leggy and scraggly need to be pruned to produce a healthier plant. God cares for us the same way when we need watering through the Holy Spirit , tending loving us , and pruning ouch! Its testimony is simple—obey it and you will find life.
When you put the words of the Bible into practice, you will see your life slowly start to change, and your faith will grow in the process. This principle is either helping you or hurting you when it comes to your faith. Take a moment to think about the people you spend the most time with. Do they have a stronger faith than you? If not, your faith will not grow. You and I must get around people who believe in God and believe that He is at work in this world.
Their faith will rub off on us. Apart from the Bible, great books have been the primary source of building my faith. Authors like C. These authors have explained the scriptures and the spiritual life in a way that makes sense to me. Through them I have learned about God, my soul, how to care for my soul, how to pray, how to be alone with God, how to love God, how to trust God, and how to find peace and joy.
This shows that in addition to the scriptures, Paul also valued the writings of other mentors in the faith. I believe that God uses difficulties and pain to stretch and grow our faith. Mark Beesley of Park Rail Church found that, as he studied the passages, God challenged him to walk the talk. I was preaching on passages that had a lot to do with humbling yourself before God. There was real growth there as I recognised how he exalts the humble and brings down the proud, and I had to have a hard look at my own pride.
Mr Beesley believes this is a key aspect to growing in your faith and strengthening your relationship with the Lord. Juggling two young children, work and family life, Eagle Vale parishioner Tally Carmody knows how hard it can be to carve time out for God in the busyness of each day.
That has helped me meditate more on God and to see him more relationally. Every week you will receive our top stories in your inbox. You can unsubscribe in one click, and we will never share your email address.
