Xiaoyu however, gets angry because she thinks they were trying to seduce Jin. He then challenges them to a fight to continue to search for the box. Jin walks on ahead, with Xiaoyu watching him. When he gets closer to the box, he gets thrown into pain from the box's influence.
Xiaoyu runs to help Jin, but he tells her to stay back. Pandora opens and seals its effect away from Jin. Afterwards, he falls unconscious. After a while, he opens his eyes and sees Xiaoyu looking at him in a worrying way.
He wakes up on Xiaoyu's lap. He gets up and sees that his devil tattoo is still on his arm. He tells Xiaoyu that he won't give up and he will find a way to get rid of this curse. The download blurb states that after defeating her, Jin took interest in Viper's gadget-laden suit and requisitioned one for himself. Jin appears in the Tekken: Blood Vengeance movie as one of the main characters. He sends Nina Williams, his bodyguard, to Russia, to activate an android named Alisa Bosconovitch and use her as a spy to gather information about Shin, who's now a student at an international school in Kyoto, Japan.
Later, Ling Xiaoyu and Alisa are able to find Shin at Kyoto Castle, where he reveals that the cause of his immortality is because of the Mutare Experiment. Jin then arrives at the castle, where he reunites with Shin, whom he was good friends with back at the Mishima Polytechnical School. After a brief conversation with his old friend, Kazuya arrives.
Then, a surprisingly alive Heihachi Mishima, who survived an explosion by G-Corporation's Jacks sent to kill him and Kazuya, reveals himself and tells everyone that the experiments were engineered by him.
Shin then uses the cell's power to try and kill Heihachi, but Heihachi attempts to kill Shin by putting him in a deadly shoulder lock, spilling most of the teenager's blood and the M-Cell's power. Xiaoyu, Alisa, and a furious Jin demand Heihachi to stop, but Heihachi heartlessly kills Shin, ridding him of the Mutare Experiment's power.
After Shin dies in the arms of Xiaoyu and Alisa, Jin, angered at the process of his friend dying, decides to battle Heihachi, and his father, Kazuya, and end the Mishima Bloodline once and for all.
Xiaoyu attempts to stop the fighting, but it's no use. Jin, Kazuya, and Heihachi engage in an epic three-way brawl, all the way down to the bottom of Kyoto Castle. After Heihachi defeats Kazuya, Jin defeats and seemingly kills his grandfather by punching him through a brick wall and sending him falling to his apparent death, avenging Shin. Afterwards, Kazuya regains conscious and confronts Jin. He then transforms into his devil form and physically strikes Jin possibly with telekinesis , sending him through the wall and taking the battle outside.
Jin attempts to defeat him without the usage of his Devil powers, but Jin was no match for his demonic father, and Devil Kazuya cruelly urges him to transform into Devil Jin.
Alisa then attempts to defeat Devil Kazuya instead, but is shut down by Jin. Annoyed that Jin has been using a "doll" to do his work, Devil Kazuya crushes Alisa in half with one single stomp, throwing Xiaoyu into despair. Afterwards, Jin finally transforms into Devil Jin, in order to put an end to the Mishima Bloodline, though his form is completely unstable and out of control; Devil Kazuya then easily defeats his son. However, as he believes he's victorious, Jin finally takes control of his new form, surprising Devil Kazuya and revealing that he never needed the M-Cell.
His Devil powers now utilized, Jin successfully defeats his father, sending him plummeting into a nearby waterfall and declaring that the Devil's power is now his. Afterwards, Jin finds Xiaoyu weeping uncontrollably next to Alisa's destroyed body. After the two friends have a brief conversation about their friendship, Heihachi is revealed to still be alive.
Underneath the ruins of the castle, he destroys the coffin harboring the spirits of the Mokujin , which was the material that the castle was made of. This causes Heihachi to then transform into a giant monster , in order for him to annihilate his grandson. Though the Mokujin tries to stop him, he ignores them and attempts to use their power to kill Jin. However, Alisa reactivates herself, and sacrifices herself to strike Heihachi's weak point; because of this, Jin finally defeats his grandfather and sends the monster tumbling to the ground.
Heihachi's fate, along with Kazuya's, is unknown. With the battle finally over, Jin puts Alisa back online, much to Xiaoyu's joy. He then tells Xiaoyu that in time, she will come to defeat him and he'll be waiting. Jin then flies back to the Mishima Zaibatsu.
Ending Description After defeating Unknown , Jin catches her in his arms. As Jin watches her, she transforms back into her human form, Jun. Jin, in shock in seeing his lost mother, watches her with love. Strangely, Jun disappears, leaving Jin alone in the darkness of Fallen Garden.
He remains on the ground, having thoughts of his beloved mother and in sadness and rage, he transforms into Devil Jin and flies away. Jin's ending continues from Devil Jin's ending. Special Alliance Partners:. Jin is a playable character in Tekken 3D: Prime Edition. Jin appears as a playable character in Tekken Revolution. His special art is Corpse Thrust. Jin is a playable character in the tactical role-playing game Project X Zone , with Ling Xiaoyu as his partner. In the sequel Project X Zone 2 , Jin returns as a playable character, with his partner Xiaoyu from the previous game being replaced by his father, Kazuya Mishima; however, his previous partner, Xiaoyu, has now been partnered with Street Fighter 's Chun-Li in the same game.
Jin Kazama appears as a main character in the novel written by Takashi Yano. The central plot revolves around him. Set between Tekken 6 and Tekken 7. Jin appears as a playable character in Tekken Card Tournament. His cards focus on an all-around albeit slightly weak assortment. However, some cards allow him to "mutate" into Devil Jin, buffing his effects tremendously.
He has average draw, strength, and abilities, making him pretty well rounded, but most of his cards are either limited, or unique, and he has a small card collection. He also has some card abilities from Heihachi, and Kazuya, which further make him a tough opponent to bring down. When he mutates to Devil Jin, he stays in that form until the card activation causes another mutation. He has cards that can help make mutation easier to do, but these usually have drawbacks on them in order to prevent rapid mutation on a whim.
He can also heal himself, but only if he strikes the opponent. He requires skill to use, so beginners aren't recommended to use him until after a bit of training. Jin was announced to be added to this game in an upcoming update. His trailer was released in December 8, Later on, Jin appears as an unlockable character released in Tekken Mobile's Christmas update Version 0.
Jin's gameplay differed from Kazuya's, as while he shared much of the moveset he was focused both on offense and punishment with good punisher moves and pressure tools, like Devil Jin , making him a deadly force if used correctly. This gameplay style updated is used now by Devil Jin. Jin's new gameplay, changed in T4, while changing the fighting style, is comparable to the Mishima's, being able to perform a crouch dash like them.
Jin doesn't have their powerful single moves, so he'll have to use different tools. What lacks in sheer damage, he makes up in a better poking game, evasive maneuvers, sneaky stance transitions, and an outstanding counter ability. His pokes are quick and hard to read, and none are very punishable on block, so he can apply constant pressure on the opponent. Also, his Mental Alertness stance gives him a good evasive option; when timed in the right way, this stance can evade most moves and give Jin the opportunity to punish the opponent.
He has his moveset from Tekken 6 with some slight modifications. His Lingering Soul Omen has been removed and replaced with something similar, his Zenshin stance. Essentially, Zenshin is a variation of his Mental Alertness 2 stance, but instead, Jin remains in a stationary position. Intuitively, this would mean that Jin cannot cancel into a dash but is able to cancel into a crouch dash from this stance. However, quite a few of his moves transition into his Zenshin stance by holding forward, allowing a sort of shortcut to his Mental Alertness 2 moves.
This increases the fluidity and speed of his moves and allows for quite a variable mix-up. Jin has a unique parry that allows him to "circumnavigate" some game mechanics.
It is very useful, but hard to apply. Jin's parry works by literally pushing the opponent, thus giving them a recovery where they can't block based on how slow the move recovers and allowing Jin to counter-attack them after parrying while they're still recovering from the move, acting as if he isn't parrying at all. This is the only way to punish properly some moves that normally are safe on block or only slightly punishable.
Jin can also parry an entire combo string, but he must perform the command for every hit before he can punish the final attack. His rage art has him stun the opponent with a high crushing punch which later flurries his opponent with several jabs ultimately knocking the opponent with a devastating straight thrust to the opponent's face.
In Tekken Mobile , this move was used within his 3-Star and 4-Star appearances and in his guest character appearances in The King of Fighters: All Star , his execution of his several jabs from his Rage Art has been slightly reduced and his devastating straight thrust is now embedded with a powerful red lightning.
When the Electric Wind Godfist is performed, Jin will remain in Omen stance, thus is possible to perform it in succession. When in Omen, Jin's stance is identical to Heihachi's. Nevertheless, it's recommended to use his rage drive which can catch opponents who do not block, resulting in them losing half-life.
It's also very easy to perform in combos for experienced players, which can increase damage greatly. Jin has low damage potential in Tekken 7. He will need to utilize huge combos in order to deal lots of damage, thus requiring support from certain environments. Jin later discarded this fighting style in favor of traditional Karate , mostly derived from Kyokushin. Jin's beloved mother, whom he shared a strong bond with; Jun was the person who mattered to him the most and loved her, as she was affectionate to Jin.
When Jin was fifteen, Jun sensed Ogre's presence, and told Jin that if something happens to her, he must go find his grandfather, Heihachi Mishima. When Ogre later attacked her, Jin tried to defend her despite her cries for him to run away, but was ultimately knocked unconscious.
After Jin awoke, Jun was nowhere to be found, leading Jin to presume that she was dead. Following his mother's wishes, the enraged Jin contacted his grandfather and begged him to train him to avenge his mother.
Later, in Tekken 4 , a vision of her prevented Jin from killing his grandfather Heihachi and his father Kazuya, reminding Jin of her teachings.
One of the rare times Jin is seen smiling is in his win pose with Jun in the non-canon TTT2 , expressing happiness in reuniting with his mother. His father. It is unknown what Jin thought of Kazuya before the events of Tekken 4 but Kazuya's devil tried to extract Jin's Devil Gene forcefully from him at the end of Tekken 4.
When Jin awoke, he told Kazuya he wished he would die, and the two fought, with Jin winning. Since then, Jin has desired to destroy the Mishima line, and especially the Devil Gene and his father who revels in its power. Kazuya and Jin have not come into direct contact since, but Kazuya opposed the war Jin started with the Mishima Zaibatsu by taking over and militarizing G Corporation.
His cousin Asuka wanted to stop his wars. The Hong Kong police detective Lei Wulong was to arrest him. Jin had driven the Rochefort oil company out of business and the head's daughter Lili wanted to reclaim what was lost. He had Kuma banished after starting his executive term.
The most notable of those who hated him was his own father Kazuya Mishima. Kazuya also wanted world domination, but Jin was in his way, so this would be a battle between Jin's Mishima Zaibatsu and Kazuya's G Corporation.
Kazuya becomes a heroic figure in the eyes of the public and he announces a bounty on Jin's head, in retaliation Jin declares the King of iron fist tournament 6. Numerous bounty hunters and mercenaries would be after him, including Kazuya's captain Bruce Irvin. Meanwhile, Zafina an assassin from a secret society protecting an ancient evil discovers a prophecy that says the evil will rise when the two evil stars collide in a land in the far east. The two evil stars are Jin and Kazuya.
So she joins the king of iron fist tournament to stop Jin. Heihachi also was against Jin because he wanted to reclaim the Zaibatsu. Meanwhile, a faction of the Tekken Force led by the young and charismatic commander Lars Alexandersson rebels against the Zaibatsu.
Unbeknownst to anyone except Lars himself, he is actually the illegitimate son of Heihachi Mishima, thus half brother to Kazuya Mishima and half uncle to Jin Kazama. As Lars and his companion Alisa arrive at a temple in Egypt at the site of the ancient demon Azazel's imprisonment, Jin meets them there.
Jin explains that his actual intent behind waging war on the world was to create enough negative energy on the world so that Azazel could materialize and he could kill the demon in a suicidal battle and also rid himself of the devil gene. As Lars tries to fight Azazel, Jin says that only someone with the devil gene could kill Azazel and he rushes the demon plunging both of them into the depths of the temple which is sealed by the sands soon after.
After the credits, Jin's body is discovered at the temple site by the spy Raven and his crew. It is also noted that Jin's tattoo hasn't disappeared, which means that he hasn't got rid of the Devil Gene just yet. After the events of Tekken 6, Jin was put on a UN helicopter. However, during the flight, the Devil awakened and sent a beam that destroyed the chopper. Jin then wanders through the desert, being tracked down by soldiers, which triggers yet again his Devil Gene. Eventually, Jin arrives at the Souq, as well as soldiers who are about to get him.
But Jin is able to get a fast glimpse of Lars Alexandersson, who is there to get him to safety, before passing out. Jin stays in comatose throughout the story mode, with Lars Alexandersson, Lee Chaolan, Alisa Bosconovitch, and their unit watching over him, as Lars believes he is the key to end the war.
Jin is targeted by Nina Williams and the Tekken force, but their attempt to kidnap him becomes a dud. At the end of the story mode, Lars, Alisa, and Lee conclude that, with Heihachi dead for good and Kazuya's refusal to end the war, it's on Jin to defeat his father and end the war once and for all.
Jin complies, as he comments on his cursed blood being the key to do so. Jin Kazama has been portrayed by Jon Foo in the movie. Jin acts as the main protagonist. In the movie, Jin is a poor teenager living with his mother Jun Kazama in Anvil, the poorest part of the city. Jin earns money by street fighting and working as a contraband runner. After the murder of Jun by the Tekken corporation forces, Jin joins the King of Iron Fist tournament by defeating Marshall Law for the open call spot to kill Heihachi Mishima and exact revenge.
Soon he is befriended by Steve Fox, who acts as his manager. During the course of the tournament, Jin befriends Raven and has a romantic relation with Christie Monteiro. Jin manages to defeat Bryan after a gruelling duel, however, he is attacked by Kazuya Mishima, his biological father. Jin defeats Kazuya to become the King of Iron Fist.
He's just understandably pissed that his sister was killed in one of their bombings with this kind of attitude. Calling the Old Man Out : Calls out both father and grandpa. Catchphrase : Since he debuted in Tekken 5 , Devil Jin has only said one phrase: " Kyoufu wo oshiete yarou " translation found further down; see " Power Echoes ".
Human Jin started saying it during one of his pre-fight intros in Tekken 6 as well pointing out that he's no longer as goody-goody as he used to be. Celibate Hero : Whereas Jin does show affection for Xiaoyu addressing her by the pet name of "Xiao" and presumably warning her of Heihachi before 4 and is hopefully aware of her affections, he can't return them simply because he refuses to let his lineage screw with the lives of anyone else.
In fact, Harada has apparently gone on record saying that Jin will never pair up with anyone, further cementing this trope. Not that this is likely to still the efforts of the Xiaoyin and Hwoajin crowds. Characterization Marches On : In 3 , Jin was pretty cocky and confident, and while he mourned the loss of his mother, he was pretty content living with his grandfather.
However, starting with his ending in 3 , he slowly became much more brooding, distrustful and reserved. If you compare his present character to his debut in 3 , it's like they're two completely different people. Then again, said ending did have him being shot in the head by his own grandfather, and only surviving due to his Devil form taking over.
Clashing Cousins : An one-sided version with Asuka. Since 6 she has been very dedicated to fight Jin and end all the damage and misery he is causing to the world with the Mishima Zaibatsu. Jin, however, doesn't care for her and treats her with the same indifference he displays towards his recurring rival, Hwoarang. Composite Character : In a sense.
In his debut, Jin drew heavily from the playstyles of both his parents, before settling into a style which is unique to him. This is even reflected in his hairstyle, which is basically a mixture of Kazuya's back hair spike with front bangs similar to Jun's. Although since 4 Jin has now abandoned his initial fighting style which borrowed from both of his parents, Devil Jin has retained it, however, with the addition of some moves from Tag 1 Devil.
His first scene in 7 has him unwillingly transform amidst a crowd of people. Darker and Edgier : As of Tekken 6 , Jin's personality has changed from troubled and brooding to cold and ruthless. As if to further enforce this, his new intro has him saying the infamous quote of his Devil form. Death Seeker : It's very clear that he intends to extinguish himself after getting rid of Heihachi and Kazuya in 4 —it's the only way he can think of to obliterate the Devil Gene.
In 6 , getting himself and Azazel killed simultaneously is the ultimate step in this plan. It doesn't work, as he's still alive in 7 , which also shows that he's not selective regarding who kills him, as shown in Miguel's ending.
Demoted to Extra : Throughout Tekken 7 , he's largely kept out of the spotlight, with Heihachi and Kazuya taking center stage, and did not get a Character Episode despite other story-unplayables like Nina and Claudio getting one for themselves. The trope ultimately gets subverted in the end because, as it turns out, he's once again set to become the next game's hero. With Heihachi gone and Kazuya hell-bent on continuing to spread war and destruction, it's all up to Jin to atone for his past mistakes and put a stop to his father's evil once and for all and hopefully find any survivors of his grandmother's clan to answers for their own actions.
Determinator : Willing to do whatever it takes to eradicate the Devil Gene, the entire world be damned. Deuteragonist : He is the second most important character in Tekken 4's story, since this game is more focused on Kazuya's return from the dead. But he could also serve as this in Tekken 6, since he is mostly the second focal character of that story next to Lars as well. Most people simply think he's in costume King II and Marduk actually think he's a new pro wrestler! Only the Mishima relatives and Nina actually know what's going on with him.
Jin got his own fighting style when Kazuya came back in part 4. And even this has an in-story justification: Jin spent the time between 3 and 4 training more mainstream forms of karate, in order to try and unlearn the Mishima style.
Interestingly, Jin and Devil Jin share quite a bit in common, despite the fact they don't use the same fighting style. Both characters are able to use throws that require every type of command break, for instance, and both can uniquely perform a IWR Instant While Running 3 from their crouch dash, which is something the other Mishimas can't do. Does Not Like Shoes : He only wears footpads in his karate gi, meaning that they go unnoticed most of the time. When he goes One-Winged Angel , a fresh pair of black and red shoes are apparently a part of the transformation package.
Easily Forgiven : To a degree. No telling if he still has to face consequences once everything is said and done, but he's also previously established that he's willing to get rid of himself.
Enemy Within : Constantly has to fight off the influence of his Devil Gene as he tries to rid himself of it as well as rid the world of it in general. Note that a vision of her is enough to stop him while he's transforming into his Devil form, no less from killing his grandfather back in his 4 ending. As he lets go of Heihachi, before flying away, he even says, "Thank my mother, Jun Kazama.
Fallen Hero : Like his father before him, Jin has gone from primary good guy of the series to the Big Bad of Tekken 6. While he turns out to be more of a Well-Intentioned Extremist compared to Heihachi and Kazuya , he ironically ends up becoming more of a menace than either of them ever were, with his plan to plunge the world into chaos to awaken Azazel resulting in the deaths of millions of innocents.
He also becomes increasingly cold and ruthless in his goals, a far cry from the noble hero he once was. He's also the penultimate opponent fought in that game's arcade mode.
As Devil Jin, he serves as the penultimate opponent fought in Tekken 5's Arcade mode, except for a select few characters. Yes, he does that accidentally towards his own cousin , although neither are aware of how they're related to each other until 6. Good Wings, Evil Wings : As a human, you can strap white angel wings to Jin's back in Tekken 5 you can also give him a halo.
Gratuitous English : Thanks to Isshin Chiba , he speaks heavily-accented English to Hwoarang before he is fought as the latter's Final Boss in his story mode from 4. This was before he got proper English voice actors in other appearances. Hate Sink : He becomes this in-universe in 6 when he declares war through the Mishima Zaibatsu and is utterly reviled by many of the game's characters for this, which he was planning on.
Ultimately subverted when his true purpose of awaking Azazel was revealed. He's back to good at the end of 7 The Hero : Of 3 and 5 , judging by the end of 7 , he's set to return to this role when 8 rolls around. Heroic Bastard : Kazuya and Jun never married, and considering how twisted the Mishima family is, it might be for the better. He Who Fights Monsters : He even quotes the last part of Nietszche's passage "And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.
Hell-Bent for Leather : His new Tekken 7 costume has him sporting an all-leather ensemble with spikes. Even his hood, which makes a triumphant return from Tekken 5 , is leather. Heroic Sacrifice : What he ultimately hopes to accomplish with the war he started in Tekken 6. His final act in Scenario Mode is the logical finalization of this. However, his survival in Tekken 7 affirms that it did not take.
Hunk : In his debut, Jin is more of an athletic and lean guy, but that changes drastically since 4. Iconic Sequel Character : Since debuting in Tekken 3 , he gets the lion's share of publicity for the series.
Heihachi a character from the first game also gets a lot of promotion too, however. The only reason why Jin doesn't smash Kazuya's face in is because that would go against what Jun taught him. In Name Only : Not in terms of his characterization, but due to his fighting style. In Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag Tournament , Jin played more or less the same as Kazuya with some of Jun's moves thrown in for good measure , but since Tekken 4 , he's instead used a more traditional style of karate.
Depending on when you jumped into the series i. Via one of the cutscenes in 4 , one of the forms he uses is actually drawn straight from Kyokushin Karate. In the Hood : Wears a hoodie in Tekken 4 and Tekken 5 as his alternate outfit.
Nearly at the level of Clothes Make the Legend. Tekken 7 shows him wearing a different, darker hoodie. His Tekken 4 hoodie makes a comeback in 7 as a bonus for the PS4 version of the game. Invincible Hero : He's won more Iron Fist tournaments than any other character.
In 3 his debut , Paul defeated regular Ogre but Ogre's transformation into True Ogre meant the tournament could continue and Paul did not wait to fight True Ogre. Jin's arrival meant he was able to defeat True Ogre and be recognized as the official winner.
He did not technically win the fourth tournament. Heihachi defeated Kazuya in the finals but this was because Kazuya and Jin were scheduled to fight in the seventh stage of the tournament. However Jin was kidnapped prior to the battle, automatically advancing Kazuya to the finals to face his father.
Jin later defeats both of them at the Hon-Maru compound but this was after the tournament had concluded. He advances through the fifth tournament normally but turns into Devil Jin after being nearly beaten by Hwoarang.
